Q. How do I use the WorkExpo program to imput data? Also where can students get white card information?

A. You need to contact the makers of WorkExpo, they do supply training. The URL is:
www.infoplan.com.au. You can also contact a member of your local regional careers group, they may be able to help.

In regards to white card contact WorkSafe for details on where you can obtain training.

Q. Can we have some advice on red and white cards?

A. We are waiting on a full response on red and white cards from DEECD. As soon as the information is available we will publish it on this site.

Q. Do students working with small operators (in the trade industry) need white card

A. If the employer has requested white card then the student must have it. Contact WorkSafe for more exact information.

Q. Do all students need the Construction Industry OH&S card prior to doing any work experience in the construction industry?

A. The answer to this question is pending.  We are waiting for clear instructions from Worksafe.  We hope to advise CEAV members shortly on this issue. All students must complete the DEECD safe@work OH&S program prior to undertaking work expereince.

Q. What's the legal age for a student to start work experience?

A. The legal age to go out on work experience is 14 and nine months.

Yes they can go out but they need a criminal records check for the employer and if it is a high risk industry the employer also needs a working with children' check/form,

Note that this answer is correct as of the time of writing, however the legislation regarding this issue is under review and these conditions may change in the next year or so.
